The Southern California Psychotherapy Referral Service was founded more than 35 years ago as a non-profit organization. While the structure of the organization has changed since its inception, the qualifications of our mental health provider members and our mission have remained the same.

We are a multi-disciplinary association consisting of licensed and experienced Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Clinical Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists throughout Southern California. Our panel members have a minimum of 5 years’ experience, and many have been in practice for 15-30 years. All are members of their respective professional organizations and adhere to the highest clinical and ethical practices.

Our mission is to provide assistance in matching the client's psychological needs and location preference with the most appropriate mental health provider. There is no fee for this service.

Southern California Psychotherapy Referral Service is managed by licensed psychotherapists who directly oversee all aspects of our service. When you call our main referral number, your call is directed to the area you choose, near your home or office:

The area coordinator will answer your call, or will return it within 24 hours. After gathering a little information about your needs and concerns, the coordinator will refer you to a highly experienced psychotherapist in your area who can assist you. Most referrals are a successful “match;” however, if for any reason you are not comfortable with the therapist, the coordinator will be happy to provide you with another referral.
