Dr. Yamashita is Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Division of Surgical Therapeutic and Bioengineering Sciences, and Director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery specialty program, Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC and LA County Medical Center in Los Angeles. He earned his education in Southern California attending Pasadena City College, USC, and the Ostrow School of Dentistry. He received his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery certification from Ostrow School of Dentistry and Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center and is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Yamashita was on the Advisory Committee of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as well as one of its regional consultants. He has been on the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery faculty at USC School of Dentistry since 1975 and has been its Advanced Program Director of since 1992. Since 2005 he has been co-director of the Department of Dentistry at LAC/USC Medical Center. Dr. Yamashita is a fellow of the American College and the International College of Dentists. |
